Party On Pale Ale

I brewed this beer for a party. It was my first all original recipe that I was completely happy with. It was a mild, balanced pale ale. It’s not as hoppy as most American pale ales, as the intent was to make something that everyone at the party could enjoy. They did and this was the most rewarding batch I had made to this point as a result.

I remember this beer fondly as something that looked like commercial American pale ales with hints of English and American hop character that were balanced by bready malt character, which was more prevalent than in this commercial examples. This may have been the quickest batch ever to disappear. Most of it was gone after the night of the party and what was left didn’t last more than a few weeks after.

1 lb Crystal 20L
6 lb Golden Light DME

1 oz Cascade @ 60 min
1 oz Cascade @ 30 min
1 oz Fuggles @ 2 min

US-05 American Ale Yeast
